I'm afraid and anxious of what lies ahead in the future.
None of us are exempted from this feeling. The virus is a threat.
The world has come to a standstill and it's even more important that we come together to overcome this. I am grateful for those who chose to be selfless and contribute to this historical event.
With this quarantine in place, I can't help but to think, what is install for us in the coming days. It is for sure, it's never going to be the same. Before I go on about what we in Nex choose to do, can we just take a moment to remember those who fought in the frontline, doing all they can for the lives of a stranger who have no whatsoever relationship with them. Yet, they have shown great exemplary to all of us in this generation. Hopefully, we, a part of this civilization will come out from this event different, better and stronger than before.
If you ask me, what do I think of this world? My desire answer was a hope I once had, when I was a kid. The naiveness in me, for human to be kind to one another and help those in need. While it sounded nice, this hope and dream was buried down by the reality for me. My attention span has always been so short that I have so many different dreams from becoming a fireman as a kid, to a cartoonist, singer, policeman, relief aid worker and a preacher when I grew older. None of it has come through.
I learn a little of everything with a hope that one day, I'll make good use of it. While I day dream about it, reality hit me with 10 years passes by since I graduated from high school.
So why now? Why choose such uncertain time to start something in hope for someone to believe and willingly purchase from a person that they do not know much? If there is something I learned from my 10 years of working is, I can't afford to stop myself from pursuing my dream just become someone don't buy it. Time is literally passing by and I will never get back the years I've pretty much wasted because of fear, the fear to the unknown and my ability to cope with it.
The birth of this brand during a challenging time, is to let people around me know that there is hope. I choose to believe in the kindness and goodness of human being. I choose to work on something that I'm passionate about, to allow my creativity flow and to use this avenue to help those I can.
Maybe this pandemic is a turning point for many of us.
To rediscover ourselves and to pursue our dream like never before. So that one day, when we leave this world, we will at least not regret because we have tried to do something about it.
That's the message that I want to share. A message to hope. A message to believe. A message to try.
Nex is a combine of Nascent and Expression.
Nascent means coming into existence and beginning to display signs of potential and Expression means an action of making known one's thought or feelings.
This is Nex and that's my hope for you who choose to believe in us.
That you too are able to express your passion and it will display great potential in everything that you do.
